Captain Dewayne Sickle is a character in the first Dead to Rights game. He is a corrupt, sadistic prison guard and a minor antagonist.

Biography[]

Young Dewayne grew up in a dysfunctional home, and received constant abuse at the hands of his father. As a result, he developed violent tendencies of his own, which made him the perfect guard of Iron Point Penitentiary, where he quickly rose to the rank of captain. He not only abused the prisoners, but his subordinates as well. He seemed to have a particular hatred for Jack Slate, who was incarcerated for murder and scheduled to be executed.

On Jack's final day in the prison, he found Sickle tormenting Shadow and confronted him. A fistfight ensued, from which Jack emerged victorious. Not one to take defeat gracefully, Sickle sought out Jack, hot for revenge, but was stopped by the timely arrival of Kip Waterman.

Shocking sickle

Sickle gets a shocking surprise.

That night, Jack was scheduled to die in the electric chair. Sickle had arranged to perform the execution personally. Unbeknownst to all but Preacherman Jones, who gave the last rites, Jack sabotaged the chair, so that when Sickle threw the switch, the prison's entire electrical grid malfunctioned. In the ensuing confusion, Jack escaped and threw Sickle into the hot seat, leaving him to die in his place.

Personality and traits[]

Sickle was a sadistic man. He loved to torment prisoners and guards alike, and this caused him to be feared by everyone in Iron Point. Many in the prison were looking forward to the day he received his comeuppance.

Trivia[]

  • During Jack's mission to obtain battery acid to sabotage the electric chair, two guards can be overheard discussing how Sickle made another guard eat his own cigarette while it was still lit.
  • During the execution scene, Preacherman Jones can briefly be seen shoving Sickle towards Jack during the flashes of light.
